Road to NGADM #2 (Final)

Posted by Zelazon - 3 weeks ago

Hello Everyone!

This will be the final update before the contest starts next month, and I wanted to share a few things before the contest begins!

Artwork:

@Troisnyx has been key in designing some of the artwork that will be shown on the site as soon as the contest starts. I requested her help as she was eager to participate on some of the art task that was important from the start of the competition. All of the art has been excellent from a design standpoint and really shows the effect that goes into a competition such as this one.

If you have not already seen the poster shown on Newgrounds already, you will want to take a look at it here:

If people put as much effort into their songs as she has into the art, then we have quite the competition coming up.

Please be aware that artist of all skills levels are participating in this competition. If you do not advance to the next round, to participate in the audio forums for tips and advice on improvement for future competitions.

Group Stage - Groups of four will be paired together to battle for first in their group for a total of 16 final bracket competitors. The top scoring individuals will advance to the bracket stage and those who do not advance will have their top scores compared to see who may serve as a back-up in cases of disqualification or no-shows.

At this stage, the contestants will be placed on the Challonge website for a better visualization of what groupings are happening at this stage.

Bracket Stage - The top 16 will be paired off in a bracket-style competition that will have predictions to see who will come out on top. It is during this stage that predictions will start.

@SplatterDash will be keeping track of the predictions, and we encourage everyone to participate.

Lastly, if there any ideas that was not discussed here that you would like to suggest, please submit your idea at the following thread:

Final Thoughts

I am honored to be responsible for organizing the competition, and with the help of talented team member, we have been motivated to bring great ideas for this long-standing competition. We have a lot of work to do in the days ahead in grading some of the work that will be posted for the NGADM 2019, but I am really looking forward to hearing all of the work you all will design for this competition.

Bring your best work, sharpen your trumpets, and astound us with your VST! We look for to seeing you on the battlefield on June 17!
